Cleveland Chapter Presents - Our Flag Still Waves

Michael Strank, of Rusyn descent, was one of the Marines who helped raise the second flag on Iwo Jima (the first was deemed too small)

This event is immortalized with an iconic statue in Arlington Cemetery.  "Our Flag Still Waves" is a DVD about the life and times of Michael Strank and includes interviews with his sister and classmates.  It is narrated by former PA Governor, Tom Ridge, also a Rusyn. This will be our opportunity to honor or ancestors who have been in the military defending our freedom and to learn more about the hardships these men faced to take control of a rocky island in the Pacific.
