    The 2009 Rusyn Tour of Slovakia is Accepting Tour Members

    If your Rusyn roots are from Šariš, Spiš, Zemplyn, Abov-Gemer, or Už counties in Eastern Slovakia, then this tour is for you!!! The Pittsburgh Chapter of the C-RS is planning a Rusyn Tour of Slovakia. Tour dates are June 23 - July 2.

    We will visit Rusyn-inhabited cities such as Prešov, Medzilaborce, Svidník, Bardejov, Humenné and Snina. Excursions to Rusyn museums, wooden churches and a Rusyn folk festival will highlight the tour. We will even visit the village where Alexander Duchnovič, our National Awakener was born.

    See performances by Rusyn folk ensembles. Attend Divine Liturgies in Rusyn churches. Enjoy Rusyn music by the best musicians in Slovakia. Meet current leaders of the Rusyn movement and media.

    There will be plenty of free time as well as opportunities for souvenir shopping in Prešov and Košice - the second largest city in Slovakia.

    The 2009 Pittsburgh C-RS Rusyn Tour of Slovakia is shaping up to be a very memorable excursion, loaded with non-stop Rusyn events.....we are even planning a Vatra!
